This is not a book review.
This post is about the pile of information being gathered about me when I use my check card, membership card, grocery discount card, etc. They know what I read, what kind of booze I buy, and (based on my previous buying habits) when I should be needing some more kitty litter. They even spit out coupons for something else kitty might like to try.
You can see above that Barnes & Noble asked me to review a book I bought from them. Actually it was five books. But, if I put up little pictures of all five, wouldn't you know a good deal about my reading habits?
Gosh. What If I had picked up Making Jihad In Your Own Home? Or a replacement for my worn out copy of The Anarchist's Cookbook?
Yea. I know what you're gonna tell me. Pay cash all the time. Check the rear view mirror often. Vary the time and route of the trip to the store. Assume so many on-line identities that nobody knows who I really am.

Crazy, I know.

I used to feel threatened when I thought about all the invasion of privacy stuff, but for some reason I don't really mind anymore. (could be the meds) Unfortunately true privacy is a thing of the past. Unless you go completely off the grid, which is tempting but not practical. So what if the "eye" out there knows I order too many toys for my grandkids, am worried about thinning hair and had a ringworm! If someone wants to waste their time finding a way to use that info, go for it.

Marla,
Thanks for stopping by.
Ah, age and wisdom. I am working on a post about how we of a certain age become invisible to those under a certain age.
Am I becoming a ghost?

True, I recently purchased "By Way of Deception - The Making and Unmaking of a Mossad Officer", now I am receiving all these book suggestions about CIA, FBI, and KGB spying book titles, lol Maybe I should write a post about that!

Ha, ha. Why not? Or you could buy all the books they suggest (did you see the movie, “Supersize Me”?) and blog about your room full of spy books.
